Welcome to Day X of the A to Z Blog Challenge. This year I have been Living in a Mermaid World by exploring mermaids through myths, legends, art, and literature.
I must admit, X has been the most challenging letter of this challenge. But, I never give up!
The Mermaids of Xanadu is a young adult series written by Robert Thornsberry which is available on Kindle.
Book One, The Accidental Mermaid, tells the story of Hannah and her fiance Alex who are editor and publisher of Darknight Books. In what became known as the Xanadu Event, they are turned into merfolk by a cursed shaman at the science fiction Kubla Con.
In Book Two, The Girl with the Sea-Green Eyes, which includes illustrations by Ashleigh Webb, newly married Hannah and Alex await the birth of their first child and try to build a somewhat normal life as merfolk.
Xandria is a symphonic metal band from Germany. One of the songs is titled Mermaids. The oil painting used as a background is titled A Mermaid. It was painted by John William Waterhouse in 1901.
Enjoy!
And last but not least, be on the lookout for mermaids:
Where would you want to go to look for a mermaid?
I am offering a giveaway of mermaid goodies to celebrate the final week of the A to Z Blog Challenge. If you make a comment, your name will be entered into a drawing.

Claire,
I LOVE LOVE the song by Xandria! And the oil painting is enchanting. Even more so since it was painted so long ago.
Cool additions to your post today..

Thanks Trine. That song was a bonus find. It is amazing how one thing led to another.

The letter X is always a challenge, I think, regardless of your theme. So you’re doing great. I’m really amazed by the amount of information related to mermaids that you’ve gathered for this month. All the books seem wonderful in terms of storytelling and artwork. Do you own all of them?
