I am a passionate reader of kid lit and I started this blog to share the new (and old) books that I think others will also enjoy.
Because of time constraints, I can’t promise to review every book that I read. In fact, I only review and share books that I want to recommend to others.
I only review books that I am reading in hard copy. These include library books, publisher’s advance copies, books given to me by authors, and books I have purchased.
We live in a multicultural world and the books I read reflect that. I am a Multicultural Children’s Book Day reviewer and I’m always on the lookout for books that show the diversity of children and their families. I also am a judge for the Cybils Literary Awards
I believe that if you can read, you can go anywhere. Developing literacy has been my life’s work and my favorite books are those written for young children including board books, picture books, easy readers, and chapter books.
My reviews are often centered around themes such as holidays, pets, and places. I know that readers travel to unfamiliar places via books so I try to find books that encourage children, and the adults who love them, to explore the world through reading.
In addition to books, I like to write about places I go and the things I see.
Please feel free to contact me if you have a book to suggest or a place or event that you think I should feature on A Field Trip Life.
