Welcome to A Field Trip Life!
I have been looking at other blog posts and realized that I am always trying to figure out where people are. So, perhaps if you’re stopping by, you might also like to know where this post is originating from. So, if I’m out and about, I should probably mention that fact. Especially because I don’t always have access to a computer or the internet. At the moment, I’m in Masaya, Nicaragua where my daughter, her husband, and 2 little ones are living. I went to a meeting in Costa Rica with my husband last week and then popped up her for a visit. I’ll post about this later. I am participating in the A to Z April Blog Challenge and am actually amazed that I’ve kept up with it while being on the road. On to the letter K!
As a teacher, I know that kindergarten is the place where the alphabet reigns supreme. There’s the letter of the week, alphabet games, and alphabet art. This is where children make connections between letters and words and become readers. Alphabet books are read daily and teachers appreciate the good ones. Today I’d like to share a perfect alphabet book for children beginning their school years. (sorry the pictures are a bit blurry but I’m doing the best I can)
K is for Kindergarten
by Erin Dealey (author) and Joseph Cowman (illustrator)
Sleeping Bear Press 2017
Kindergarten days are filled with learning fun and this ABC book is a celebration of all things K.
K is for Kindergarten is actually two books in one. Each spread features letters accompanying words that are part of the kindergarten experience. Sidebars list activities and challenges. The bright illustrations show an exuberant, diverse class of children with so much to see, learn, and do.
The lively, rhyming text is perfect for reading aloud.
K is for Kindergarten will be enjoyed by preschoolers preparing to enter K as well as current K students who will love seeing children like them doing the things they do.
Hooray for Kindergarten!
I really appreciate your comments and will get back to you when I get home.
