Fantasy series are the ones that most generously include maps which enable readers immediately enter and gain an understanding of the world the characters inhabit. The Redwall series is not exception.

Redwall is a peaceful kingdom inhabited by innocent woodland animals. Redwall, the first book in the series, begins when the Abby of Redwall is attacked by a band of devious rats. A young mouse apprentice named Matthias,must face his destiny as he answer riddles and goes on a quest for the long lost magical sword which is their only hope for saving their homeland.
The series is made up of twenty-two novels, each telling a different aspect of the kingdom of Redwall. All are filled with anthropomorphic talking animals who have daring adventures where good always triumphs over evil. This is certainly a literary readers can get lost in.

I own a few of the first novels of Redwall, oned them for years, and still I havn’t read them yet. Must find time for it. It sounds like a fun read.
