Just wanted to let anyone who happens to be in the San Francisco Bay area this weekend know that there will be a goat festival at the Ferry Building on Saturday morning, April 12, 2014. There will be baby goats to pet, goat cheese tasting and cooking demonstrations.

Here’s my favorite appetizer using goat cheese:
5 oz goat soft goat cheese (I use Laura Chenel’s Chèvre)
5 oz soft cream cheese
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1/4 cup toasted slivered almonds
small head of endive
honey
Mix the goat cheese, cream cheese, and dried cranberries
Separate the endive leaves
spoon cheese mixture into the bottom part of each endive leaf
sprinkle almonds over the cheese mixture
arrange on plate and drizzle honey over the top
