Reading James and the Giant Peach was one of the highlights of my childhood. I was hooked from page one.

Many of the most important lessons I learned in life came from books written by the brilliant Roald Dahl. And, in honor of his 100th birthday, I’m sharing some of his wise words.

Do you know what a Glumptious Globgobbler is?   No worries – now you can look up the meaning of these and other fantastic words in the new Oxford Roald Dahl Dictionary.

And, speaking of Glumptious Globgobblers, head over to Jama Rattigan’s blog, Jama’s Alphabet Soup for a delightful Food Alphabet based on Roald Dahl’s books.

To learn more about Roald Dahl and the festivites planned visit the Roald Dahl Museum

Great quotes to begin the day, post by our writing desk, and carry in our pockets.

His books are amazing and his quotes hit home too. Thanks, Claire. I especially love the last one about the small things being magical.
