Whew! January has been a wild month filled with family, friends, and field trips!
I’m taking a little break from packing. I need to be at the airport before 5 a.m. for my trip to Nicaragua. I will be helping to set up a school with Students International. My children have all traveled and worked with this group and I’m excited that I am finally able to go.
Here are some follow ups to some of the things I have blogged about:
If you are interested in the results of the Audubon Christmas bird Count and want to become more involved with Citizen Science you can sign up for the info here.
Multicultural Children’s Book Day was a great success.
Traveling through books is a great way to learn about others. The awesome founders have created a great resource for books celebrating diversity. Check it out here.
One of my very favorite blogs is Dinner, a love story, written by Jenny Rosenstrach. She shares recipes, stories about her family, and new discoveries. One of them is Waterlogue, an app that gives your photos a watercolor effect. I used it to make the above photo of me with the quote. (just a note – I am just sharing this because I think is is really cool – I don’t get any payment for promoting this.
I was also discovered another blogger that I think is awesomely creative. Her name is Kara Benz and she blogs at Bohoberry. She shared a challenge I’m going to participate in. It is International Correspondence Writing Month or InCoWriMo where you hand-write and mail/deliver one card or letter each day throughout the month of February. I love sending letters and I love receiving them so I’m in! Since I’ll be out of the country, some people are going to receive cards with Nicaraguan stamps.
I hope you’ve had a great start to 2016! I have and can’t wait to see what February brings.
