A Feathered Flight of Faith…
Today, I am sharing exciting news – Raven’s Gift: A Feathered Flight of Faith is being re-released! What exactly does that mean?
Based on an old legend, RAVEN’S GIFT tells the story of a bored young Raven who encounters the angels proclaiming the birth of Christ. He now has an important mission – he will spread the word to the other biblical birds. Brightly illustrated by Guatemalan artist, Desirée Cordón, Raven’s Gift is a picture book that focuses on the most important gift of all.
This picture book has had a long journey. I wrote it over fifteen years ago but struggled to find a publisher. A publisher finally acquired it, but then held it for four years before going out of business. I had faith in this story and even considered self-publishing it, which proved daunting. Thankfully, Little Press Publishing added a faith-based imprint, Bless This Press. and selected RAVEN’S GIFT as the inaugural book.
A Raven’s Gift Re-Release
Due to problems with the printer and issues with shipping the book didn’t release until December 1, 2023. Unfortunately, this did not give enough time for the book to be reviewed and shared with libraries and bookstores. Thankfully, the Little Press has a new distributor and Raven’s Gift has another chance to reach readers. It is my hope that this sweet book will become an inspiring classic.
Raven’s Gift Launch Team
I am currently putting together a launch team for RAVEN’S GIFT. There’s not much to do – just help spread the word. Want to help? Put your name in the comments below, and I’ll contact you.
Raven’s Gift Original Song
My musician brother, Frank Pratte and my 10-year-old great niece, Cecelia Bayley, have created a lovely song to celebrate the release of RAVEN’S GIFT: A Feathered Flight of Faith. Enjoy!
RAVEN’S GIFT is available for preorders at bookshop.org as well as through Amazon.
I will be sharing RAVEN’S GIFT at several bookstores and churches. If you would like an in-person or virtual author visit, please contact me at claireannette1@gmail.com
