Hi Friends,
I’m thrilled to share something with you today. I like to write about books that I’m reading but today I’m sharing a picture book that I wrote. It is being published by the fantastic Cardinal Rule Press and will be launched on May 1, 2020. Here is a sneak peek cover reveal.
Are you ready? Not only am I sharing the title but the actual cover illustrated by the amazing Alicia Teba.
Okay, here it is – the cover for EVIE’S FIELD DAY – More Than One Way to Win:
Isn’t it wonderful? I love the colors, the font, and the look on Evie’s face. The sweet bird is a hint at what is to come.
Getting a book published is a big dream that takes a lot of work and then being able to find the right publisher at the right time. I feel like I won the lottery!!!
My book is about a girl named Evie who loves to win (who doesn’t?) but finds herself losing. It’s about winning, losing, and doing the right thing. I hope you will love it as much as I do. I will be sharing more about the process in the months leading up to the book’s release.
Evie’s Field Day is available now for pre-order on Amazon.
Thanks for joining me on this journey. You are all the best!
Love,
Claire
PS What sorts of books do you buy or check out for your children and grandchildren? Old favorites? New best sellers? Seasonal offerings? Multicultural settings and characters? Let me know in the comments.
Congratulations!!! Very exciting!!!
It is exciting! Thanks for sharing the journey with me!
I love the cover. The illustration of Evie is so sweet!
Thanks, Eva. I’m having postcards made and will send you one soon.
I’ll reply to you by snail mail but… Just a quick note to let you know that I got the book. And a big thank you!
Wow, congratulations, Claire!
Thanks, Tina. It is so fun seeing EVIE’S FIELD DAY making its way into the world.
Love your cover and can’t wait to read your book! Congratulations!
Thanks Joan, without your thoughtful critiques this book wouldn’t be happening!
Wow! Congratulations! So exciting Claire!! I’ll be ordering. XO
Thanks Gene – I’ll send you an invitation to the book launch in May.
Lovely cover, Claire.
I am holding a “Rainy Day Read-a-Thon with my grandkids over Thanksgiving. I chose a mixture:
The Gingerbread Pirates (PB)
Under the Blood Red Sun (Classic MG)
The Dog Who Lost it’s Bark (New MG)
The Infinity Ring (#1 in a MG 2012 Series)
Great choices, Trine! A rainy-day read-a-thon sounds like lots of fun.
